Fran Johnson
Having worked as an Art Director for Advertising Agencies and the Corporate environment for over twenty-five years, I've always painted as an outlet to release stress. Oils, acrylics and multi-media help me express feelings and thoughts, and to channel the way I look at life in general. Chosen for its forgiveness in layer after layer, oils are what makes textures and motion in my paintings original and unique. From abstract to still life to abstract landscape, brilliant color and movement bring my perspective to life in art.

Inspiration
Color is foremost for me when I'm painting, expecially in oils. I'm an outdoor enthusiast, and I see motion and texture everywhere in the environment. I'm always using it as a
step into the next painting.
Techniques
When I really want to make a statement,
I add texture with my oils. Adding leaves, string, wire and paper gives the art perspective and a new way to see art.
career highlights
As an Art Director I can truly say I've had
a lot of career highlights, but it can be
stifling for a painter. I'm just starting this
career as a "selling" artist so I'll get
back to you with how it goes.
